Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how the Prowlarr Search Chrome extension handles your data.
1. Information Collection and Use
Prowlarr Search is designed to be a private and secure tool for searching your own Prowlarr instance.
- Prowlarr Server Data: The extension requires you to provide the URL and API key of your own Prowlarr server. This information is used solely to communicate with your server to perform searches and retrieve results.
- Search Queries: When you use the extension to search, the search terms are sent directly to your configured Prowlarr server.
- No Centralized Tracking: We do not collect, store, or monitor your search queries, the results you receive, or any other usage data. There is no central server that tracks your activity.
2. Data Storage
- Local Storage: Your Prowlarr URL, API key, and search
preferences (categories, selected indexers) are stored using the
chrome.storage.syncAPI. - Chrome Sync: If you have Chrome Sync enabled, this data may be synced across your devices by Google to provide a consistent experience. This data is encrypted by Google during transit and at rest according to their privacy standards.
- No Third-Party Access: We do not have access to the data stored in your browser or your Prowlarr server.
3. Data Disclosure
- Direct Communication: The extension only sends data to the URL you explicitly provide in the settings. No data is sent to any other third party, including the developer of this extension.
- No Sale of Data: We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to outside parties.
4. Permissions
The extension requests the following permissions to function:
storage: To save your Prowlarr configuration.-
contextMenus: To allow you to right-click selected text and search Prowlarr. activeTab: To facilitate the display of search results.- Host Permissions: To allow the extension to make API requests to the Prowlarr server URL you provide.
